![]() They protect. The serve. They like Kebabs. The Blue Line takes you to the gritty Melbourne streets and shows you how Victoria's finest keep us safe. Walking the beat are Officer Billy Derp and Lieutenant Krytal McCann, two cops who love their job and are passionate about fighting crime. Detective Roger Crock, on the other hand, is a renegade, a veteran from the school of hard knocks and a cop who plays by his own rules. Experience the highs and lows, go behind the badge and above the law as we meet the cops and crims in this unique show that Mat has been qouted to describe it as "unique". After Studio 4, Mat wanted to get away from sketches for awhile and do something more character based. The result was THE BLUE LINE, a mock-umentary that follws the around cops as they do their jobs, taking the piss out of reality and cop shows. The Blue Line scripts were written as a framework and then mainly improvised on set. Damien Vennell takes his first lead role and delivers a steller performance along with a new addition to the IMP family, Jess Miller. Also a standout is Jarrod Kirby's "The Blue Line theme" that sets up the high energy tone of the show. Memorable performances come from Pete Stanley as a retarded superhero, Mark Horner as Melvin the Nerd, and Kris Hoernlein as a Russian pervert. Shot on location guerilla style around Melbourne, The Blue Line is a fast paced, electrifying look at Victorian coppers. |
